A lesson in letter sounds...

So my 5yr old is learning the sounds of all his letters in school and also learning to read. You would not BELIEVE what he just told me. He told me that I made a mistake when I named him and that I'm not saying it right. If y'all don't know, his name is Lucas. However, we are true Southern Hicks in my house and we say it "Luke - S" or "Luc - ehs". He squickly told me that the A should say aaa (or however you would do the symbols above that) and that from now on I am to pronounce it Luke Ass.

I mean, what do you think his teacher will think on Monday morning when she is doing roll call and calls him Luc-ehs and he promptly tells her that it's Luke Ass? I'm thinking I'll be getting a phone call!!!
